Optimistic Deadbeat is a company whose existence began with hopes of highlighting the incredibly talented Newbern Taylor. We wanted to share his awesome designs with the public, and therefore Optimistic Deadbeat was born.
For the past 40 years Newbern Taylor has been a Graphic Designer and Illustrator. During the 1960's he was a Fashion Illustrator in New York City, then a rock music poster designer in San Francisco. During the 1970's thru 1990's concentrating on the design and artwork for book covers, magazine illustration, album covers and posters. He also taught at North Carolina State University-School of Design. His corporate clients have included McDonald's, Disney, ABC, Ford, CNN, Wrangler Jeans, KFC, and IBM.
